Each record is a claim that passages conflict — recorded so it can be examined, not endorsed. Records carry propositions, an editorial classification, and, where reviewed, a formal analysis and the premises any harmonisation must supply.

Genesis 6:19-20 instructs Noah to bring two of every sort of living thing. Genesis 7:2-3 instructs him to take clean beasts by sevens and unclean by twos, and fowls by sevens. The two instructions stand within a few verses of each other in the same narrative.
Numbers reports twenty-four thousand dead in the plague. Paul, recalling the wilderness generation, writes that twenty-three thousand fell in one day. The figures differ by one thousand, and Paul adds the phrase "in one day".
2 Samuel and 1 Chronicles both introduce the first-named member of David’s mighty men and both report a number of men killed with a spear on a single occasion. The figures differ: eight hundred in Samuel, three hundred in Chronicles. The passages also differ in the name and epithet given to the warrior.
Kings reports forty thousand stalls of horses for Solomon’s chariots; Chronicles reports four thousand stalls for horses and chariots. Both give the same figure of twelve thousand horsemen.
Kings and Chronicles describe the same bronze basin in the temple with nearly identical wording, including the same handbreadth thickness and lily-work brim, but give different capacities: two thousand baths in Kings, three thousand in Chronicles. Chronicles adds the phrase "received and held".
Kings and Chronicles both give Ahaziah’s age at accession and both give the same reign length of one year, but the ages differ by twenty years: twenty-two in 2 Kings, forty-two in 2 Chronicles. The forty-two figure would make Ahaziah older than his own father at the time of his accession, on the reign lengths the same books supply.
Kings gives Jehoiachin’s age at accession as eighteen and his reign as three months; Chronicles gives eight and three months and ten days. The reign lengths are close but not identical, and the ages differ by ten years.
